One way to enhance the sound in any car is to add an amplifier.
An amplifier can be used to drive the front or rear speakers or used with
a subwoofer for extra bass.
What amplifier to choose?
Question - Okay, so I have just purchased a set of 6 x 9 speakers, what
amplifier do I need to enhance the sound?
Answer - A basic 2 channel amplifier will do the job here, perhaps a
Alpine PMX-T320.
Question - I have four speakers in my car and want to improve the sound,
can you let me know what amplifier I need?
Answer - If you have a four speaker set up and want to play your music
louder then you will require a 4 channel amplifier, for this we would recommend
the Alpine PMX-F640, if however you also have bass already in your car then the
better option would be the Alpine MRP-F300, as this amplifier will provide a
better crossover for the ultimate sound system set up.
Question - I have a subwoofer, what amplifier do I need to drive it?
Answer - The answer here would depend on whether your subwoofer is 2 or 4
ohm, single or dual voice coil, if you are unsure please contact us for
recommendations.
Question - I have a JBL sub, the power is 1260 watts, dual voice coil and
4 ohms, can you recommend an amplifier for this?
Answer - You will require a MONO Bloc amplifier that will run at 2 ohms
for maximum power.
