The Alpine name is possibly one of the best known in car audio and certainly the brand is one of our best sellers.
Alpine certainly leads the way with innovative designs, most people were surprised when Alpine introduced their first IDA model, a head unit that can't play CD's, will that ever sell we wondered? Well sell it did in fact we couldn't get enough of these units and the IDA range of head units remains one of our most popular but of course Alpine being Alpine have stayed up to date with the latest technology and the new IDA-X305S is fully compatible with iPhone.
The Alpine range of head units are all fully compatible with iPod via a full speed iPod lead with the exception of Alpine's new budget head units, the CDE-120R and CDE-120RM okay so these units won't give you control of your iPod but it has a handy front USB and AUX in and to be honest who would have thought a few years ago you would be able to get an Alpine head unit for £89.99.
As Bluetooth has become more popular Alpine introduced two Bluetooth head units the CDE-125BT and CDE-126BT, these units use Parrot Bluetooth so the sound is clear and precise with no annoying echo, both of these units are fully compatible with iPod and iPhone.
Alpine always seem to have been keen to promote units that support iPod playback, even extending this to their multimedia range with the IXA-W407BT and IXA-W404R both double DIN units designed to support iPod and iPhone.
Where most companies now seem to concentrating most of their multimedia efforts on double DIN units Alpine seem to have kept the balance fairly equal with a good selection of both. Alpine have three flip out screens, the IVA-D106R, the IVA-D511R and RB version, all of these flip out models have a full speed connection for iPod and are fully compatible with the KCE-400BT bluetooth interface.
Whilst other manufacturers introduced units with navigation built in, Alpine stuck with add on navigation, this was until the exciting development of the INE-S900R all in one double DIN navigation unit, this fantastic unit works with iPod and iPhone, plus has a main and side screen so two sources can be viewed at the same time.
The Alpine range still features the same fantastic speakers, subwoofers and amplifiers and within this range are some great budget products without any compromise on style or quality.
